• Joshua Tree

    My first stop back in California is Indio - a small town by Palm Springs. It’s considered ‘low desert’ and is surrounded by mountains. I took this chance to visit the nearby Joshua Tree National Park.

  • Grand Canyon

    Headed north again to Flagstaff where I stayed at a hostel that offers tours of the Grand Canyon.

  • Roswell 👽

    For fun, I decided to make a stop in Roswell, known for it’s UFO-related history. I only really made one stop here: The International UFO Museum And Research Center. It consists a smallish museum and a library which contained a surprising amount of UFO-related material.

  • Carlsbad Caverns

    Carlsbad Caverns National Park is near the South Eastern part of New Mexico. Since the elevator was out of service, everyone had to use the natural entrance. It’s a long trip down into the cavern - all downhill - which, of course means you’ll need to hike back up that same route.

  • Big Bend National Park

    After a week with family, I headed back onto the road to West Texas. While I stayed in Alpine, TX, Big Bend National Park is actually 2 hours south, near the Mexico border. I had heard a lot of things about the park so, naturally, had to make a stop.
